Intraoperative Perfusion Imaging

Opticara’s patented perfusion monitor gives clinicians real-time tissue perfusion assessment using laser speckle contrast imaging.

Clinical Applications

Every Surgeon Knows Perfusion Is Vital

Our device allows surgeons to have intraoperative real time access to accurate tissue perfusion instantly.

Intraoperative

During open surgery, surgeons need to know how well tissue is perfused. Opticara’s monitor provides a real-time perfusion assessment in the operating room, while the procedure is under way.

Questions to explore

  • How does it fit into our intraoperative workflow?
  • How is it positioned relative to the surgical site?
  • What does the evidence show in surgical patients?

The Clinical Imperative

Perfusion Decisions Are Made Mid-Surgery

Adequate perfusion is fundamental to tissue survival and recovery. During open surgery, surgeons often judge it by eye, from the colour and appearance of tissue, at the moment decisions are being made.

Real-time perfusion assessment, in the operating room, while it matters.

Real-Time Assessment

Tissue perfusion assessed during the procedure, not after it.

Objective Information

Imaging data that supports the surgeon's visual assessment and gives the team a shared reference.

Built for Open Surgery

Designed for use in the operating room, during open surgical procedures.

Technology

Laser Speckle Contrast Imaging

Laser speckle contrast imaging lights tissue with laser light. Moving red blood cells blur the speckle pattern that light creates, and the amount of blurring is used to map tissue perfusion. Opticara’s patented perfusion monitor uses this technique to give clinicians a real-time assessment during surgery.
